Returns
If you think your CDI is damaged, please check the wiring, connectors, stator or battery charge, pickup, tether/kill switch to verify components are not damaged and that everything is wired correctly.
Use the Diagnostics Diagram to look at the Red/Green LED’s to help you diagnose no spark issues. If your CDI still does not spark you may have a damaged CDI and will need to return it for repair or replacement.
For any warranty claim please follow these steps:
1. Please email customersupport@motorcityspark.com and request an RMA (Return Material Authorization) number. You should receive a response within 1 business day.
2. Find and make a copy of your dated Proof-of-Purchase for your CDI.
3. Your CDI shall be warranted providing the one-year warranty limitation has not expired.
4. Your CDI shall be warranted providing it has not have been disassembled, modified, defaced, or altered in any way and that the label has also not been defaced or removed.
5. You do not have to remove and return your CDI connector pigtail. If you do send it, it will be returned to you with repaired CDI.
6. Please provide a brief Problem Description such as “After fifty hours of operation CDI turns off at high engine speed and the Ignition Switch has to be cycled to turn CDI on again.” This is very helpful for us to try and duplicate the failure especially if it’s intermittent.
7. Carefully pack your CDI in a padded box with RMA #, dated Proof-of-Purchase and Problem Description and mail it via U.S. Mail to:
Motor City Spark
PO Box 574
Milford, MI 48381
Upon receipt, your CDI will be inspected and tested and you will be informed of the problem, repair and warranty resolution.
We apologize in advance if you ever have to return your CDI as it is designed to last a very long time with proper care and maintenance.
